Washington School Improvement Framework Released

The Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) recently released a new framework for identifying schools for additional support. Click the title of this article to get more information about how our East Valley Schools measured up.

As this is a new program, full details on how support will be implemented hasn’t yet been established within our district. As more information is released over the next few weeks, we will continue to add information to this webpage.

EVHS Construction Parking Plan

We are excited to begin construction on our East Valley High School project next week. Parking, bus lane and student pick-up/drop-off changes for East Valley High School will be in effect on Monday, March 19, 2018 to accommodate our construction project. Please review the attached map to prepare for these changes.

Construction Bid Accepted!

During the Regular School Board Meeting on Monday, February 26, 2018, our East Valley Board of Directors accepted Resolution 364-17/18 to award the contract for our East Valley High School Modernization and Addition Project to Fowler General Construction, Inc., of Richland, Washington.

The contract came in under the original budget for the project at $40,986,000, allowing the Board of Directors and district administrators the ability to accept several alternate bids. The total bid, including all selected alternate bids, was priced just over $42 million. Phase one of the EVHS project is scheduled to begin the week of March 5, 2018.

2019-2021 Replacement Educational Support & Operations Levy Passed!

On the February ballot we asked the residents of East Valley to support our schools with additional funding to ensure that we are able to continue to provide essential enrichment opportunities for our students.

On February 13th ballots were due and the votes were counted. We are thrilled to announce that nearly 63% of the East Valley population voted in favor of our 2019-2021 Replacement Educational Support & Operations Levy and it has passed!

We are very thankful to the members of our Levy Committee for their dedication to our schools and their hard work in making sure that our levy efforts were successful. We are also extremely appreciative of the continued support that our East Valley Community has offered our schools. We look forward to the future of our district and the high quality education we will be able to provide for all of our students with these levy dollars. Thank you EAST VALLEY!

School Board Meeting In Review (2.12.18)

On Monday, February 12, 2018, East Valley School Board Directors Charlotte Layman, Matthew Byers, Eric Farmer Seth Basford and Ray Wiseman met with district administrators to discuss and approve agenda items. Joining our Board of Directors at this week's meeting, were five members of Troops 112 and 113 of the Boy Scouts of America. Join us at East Valley Elementary School  for our next Regular School Board Meeting on Monday, February 26, 2018; at 7:00 p.m.. East Valley Elementary will host the Board Meeting and present their progress toward meeting the goals outlined in their School Improvement Plan.
