she began her career in education over 11 years ago as a paraeducator. After receiving her teaching certificate from Central Washington University and her English Language Learner (ELL) endorsement from Heritage University, she taught English Language Arts/English Language Learner (ELL) and was an ELL Instructional Coach for seven years at Sunnyside High School.
Mrs. Avalos continued her education and received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Grand Canyon University and Principal Certification from Eastern Washington University.
Mrs. Avalos and her husband, Ruben, have three children ages 6, 9, and 14 years old. They enjoy spending their free time watching their kids play football, basketball, and soccer. Mrs. Avalos grew up in Prosser, WA and comes from a big family; she is one of seven children.
Mrs. Avalos says, "I’m looking forward to working with our students, parents, and community to build positive relationships that support and enable student success. I’m excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to work for the East Valley School District."
